It's easy to be obsessed with jiu jitsu when you start training. It's like getting a new gym membership at the beginning of the year for a resolution.

They will often train almost everyday if not everyday. If you're young and very active you'll be fine. However, if you're not used to training hard and not particularly athletic or older. You might want to take it easy.

If you train hard everyday and you're not used to it. You will run the risk of getting hurt. You don't want to get injured, you want to avoid all injuries at all cost. Avoid it like the plague. Once you get injured, you're looking at time off the mats.

You better off training 3 times a week for a whole year than training 30 days straight get injured and take 2 months off. You'll come back much worst than before.

If you want to train more you have to work your way up to it. But in saying that, you need to schedule in rest days. Rest days are important and you need to recover. Recovery will help you avoid getting injuries and will allow you to train more consistently.

When you're starting your training, 2-3 days is good and when you're ready, move up to 3-4 and then 4-5 times a week.
