Biggest lies in Jiu Jitsu

Biggest lies in Jiu Jitsu

Jun 16, 2023

These are some of the biggest lie in jiu jitsu and I don't even know why they even exist. Lets just jump into it.

Size doesn’t matter:

You do know about gravity right? IF because if you believe in gravity then you'll know that this is an invalid statement. If someone is bigger and heavier, they will squash you. If someone is at the same level as you and they're on top position, they have gravity on their side. So if they’re the same level as you and they have 10 or more kg heavier. You're going to be squashed. IF you are much better than them, you'll be able to do much better. But you need to be at a higher level to nullify them.

And if you're on top position, you should start on top, don't go to top mount chase their back.

Jiu Jitsu isn’t for girls:

Okay, we are in the 21st century and girls should have the freedom to train martial art if they so wish to. If you ask me, training martial art is for anyone and for everyone. You're not in a disadvantage if you know how to fight and defend yourself.

Like I said everyone should be training martial arts.

You don’t need strength in jiu jitsu:

Where did this even come from? This is probably the dumbest thing I've ever heard or told. Knowing jiu jitsu is not like a cheat code where you don't need to do anything else. You need strength and be strong to help you in training.

Having strong muscles will hold your joints together tighter and will reduce risk of injuries as well.

Jiu jitsu is a gentle art

Yes, but you still get bashed and you can still get hurt. And you can't be gentle doing any of the techniques. So this is the biggest lie of all.

You are literally learning how to choke or break each others arm.
